About Crewdays
A free calendar for people who work rotating shifts.
Crewdays turns a shift pattern into a calendar for the whole year. It was made by Asier Fernández because most shift calendars online cover a single pattern or ask you to sign up.
How the calendar is worked out
Each pattern is a cycle of days, for example 14 days for the Pitman. From the day you start a block, Crewdays counts forward and back through the cycle, so every date of the year gets its shift. Hours are scheduled hours: the shift length times the shifts worked. Holidays are the 11 US federal holidays (5 U.S.C. 6103) on their actual date.
Check it against your rota
Employers adapt patterns: they change the order of blocks, the start time or add relief days. Crewdays is a planning tool, not your official schedule. If something does not match, tell us and we will look at it.
Where the rules come from
Every pay or working-time rule on the site is taken from the official text and linked from the page that uses it:
- Federal overtime, regular rate and hours worked: 29 CFR Part 778 and Part 785.
- Firefighters and police (section 7(k)), sleep time and 911 dispatchers: 29 CFR Part 553.
- State daily overtime: California Labor Code 510 and 511, Alaska Statutes 23.10.060 and the Colorado Overtime and Minimum Pay Standards Order (COMPS Order #40, 7 CCR 1103-1).
- US federal holidays: 5 U.S.C. 6103. Clock changes: 15 U.S.C. 260a.
- United Kingdom: the Working Time Regulations 1998, GOV.UK guidance and the official bank holiday list.
Rules were last checked on . Union contracts, state laws and employer policies often give more than these minimums, so the site always says which rule it applied.
Corrections
If a date, a number or a rule is wrong, email us with the page and what you expected. Confirmed mistakes are fixed and the page date is updated.
Independence and funding
Crewdays is not linked to any employer, union, fire department or hospital. It is free to use and is paid for by ads shown by Google AdSense. Advertisers do not choose or review what the pages say.
